Welcome to our May newsletter; we're well into the new season with several tours already under our belts.
Iceland Tour - Stop Press!
We have had a last minute cancellation for our Iceland tour in July. We now have a space for one vehicle for this heavily oversubscribed trip.
This tour is truly the trip of a lifetime to a land where volcanoes, glaciers, vast waterfalls, gigantic gorges, steaming geysers all show nature's awesome power. Our two-week tour aims to visit many of these mighty geological features most of which are only accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles. The terrain varies from gravel pistes to sandy tracks and rocky trails. River crossings abound - some mere water splashes but some far more tricky where deep swirling water can catch out the unwary or unprepared.
Dates are 15 July - 1 August; the cost of this tour is £895 per person based on two people sharing a vehicle and includes all campsite fees on Iceland plus Atlas Overland guide and support vehicle. The ferry for Iceland departs from Hirtshals in Denmark and is not included in the cost of the tour. Remember we are holding the last available place on the car ferry for these dates.

Wessex Wanderer
We began the year with a couple of trips to Wessex for some great weekends off-roading on and around Salisbury Plain where we enjoyed superb winter sunshine. We'll be running these tours throughout the year; the cost is £160 per vehicle and includes two nights at our superb campsite with modern facilities and licenced restaurant serving evening meals and hearty breakfasts to hungry campers! Morocco Grand Tour
Our next tour was to Morocco for our Grand Tour. Here we ventured off the tourist trail and headed out to the east of the country visiting long abandoned forts of the Foreign Legion and disused railways. Following heavy winter rainfall the desert was in bloom. These pictures were taken at Lac Maider and Oued Rheris - both areas are normally bone dry and dusty! We'll be returning to Morocco this autumn and again next spring. The cost of this tour is £995 per person based on two people sharing a vehicle. This includes your high-speed Mediterranean ferry, all camping fees in Morocco plus a two night, full- board stay in a desert auberge. Your Atlas Overland guide and fully equipped support vehicle are on call 24/7. We prepare of all your customs paperwork in advance to ensure a smooth passage into to Morocco. During the tour there are no hidden charges, entry fees, etc everything is taken care of so you can relax and enjoy your Saharan adventure.
2016 Adventure Tours
Most of our tours for this year are now full so we've been working on our 2016 schedule. We've made a few changes to enhance our tours - our Portuguese tour now runs in August to take advantage of the summer heat and school summer holidays. Our Corsica and April Morocco tours also coincide with school holidays as many of our customers are tied to these periods because of their jobs or children. Remember, unlike the big travel companies, we don't charge a premium for tours during holiday periods!
We've also moved our autumn Morocco trips earlier to take advantage of long Saharan evenings. Please note that our normal group size is 6 customer vehicles hence tours typically fill up 6-12 months in advance so early booking is essential. Nissan Patrol 3.0Litre GU Trek
This is the ideal vehicle to use for adventure family holidays, it was built for, is currently used for trips around Europe and Morocco. It has been maintained regardless of cost and has recently had a complete brake overhaul with new genuine Nissan parts.
